A new era in color photography began with the introduction of Kodachrome film, available for 16 mm home movies and 35 mm slides. This new development was aimed to please theater attendees from the normal and depressing black-and-white versions. The development of the first instant camera was a huge success, with all 57 initial cameras produced being sold on the first sale date.
