FIRST KODAK CAMERA
1888. "You press the button, we do the rest" promised George Eastman with this advertising slogan for his Kodak camera. Pre-loaded with enough film for 100 exposures, the Kodak camera could easily be carried and handheld during its operation. After the film was exposed (all the shots taken), the whole camera was returned to the Kodak company in Rochester, New York, where the film was developed, prints were made, new photographic film was inserted, and then the camera and prints were returned to the customer.
CINEMATOGRAPHE
A motion picture film camera, which also serves as a film projector and developer. It was invented in the 1890s. There is some dispute as to who actually invented it. In 1892, it was thought to be French inventor Léon Bouly to first patent it, however he was unable to pay the fee. Therefore, leaving the patent available for engineers, Auguste and Louis Lumière's to purchase it. Popular thought also dictates that it was the Lumiere’s who were the first to understand how to use the cinématographe, both share the patent and they have the first footage ever to be recorded using it in a private screening on March 19, 1895.
