The early 1880's found professional photography to be somewhat of a lost art with the new advancements in the industry, which allowed amateurs to shoot subjects with little skills or intelligence. New organizations, schools & clubs were formed to encourage those in the profession to respect & preserve the morals of the craft and to promote photography as an independent medium. By the 1900's, rapid changes in the modern world challenged professional photographers to change the mind of the consumer that not just anyone can take photos. Modern artists began to explore their artwork through nature, landscapes, nudity, illusions and collage to engage the viewer with it’s meaning.
